The transplant center is regulated by two governing bodies United Network of Organ Sharing and CMS.  The program is required to have a dietician for all phases of transplant.  We need an outpatient dietician to cover our pre/listed phases of transplant and living donors.  We utilize Epic and have a template built for donors and recipients that can easily be used.  We need a nutritional assessment to help complete the evaluation.  The evaluation day for our patients is typically all day.  The patient sees the entire team in that day, including the pharmacist, surgeon, nephrologist, coordinator, dietician, financial coordinator, and social worker.  Patients also complete a full cardiac workup before or after the evaluation.  The evaluation testing includes labs, Chest x-ray, EKG, Cat Scans, etc.  We try to have testing completed prior to evaluation to make the evaluation easier for all involved to complete notes the day of evaluation.  On Thursday mornings we have Listing Committee.  The coordinator presents the patient to the committee with past medical and surgical history and testing and concerns.  From there each team member shares their concerns with the patient.  From there we decide if the patient can be listed or need further evaluation.  The committee is very informal and very receptive to all member's input.  

 

The need is 4-8 hours a week; evaluations are Thursdays after Listing Committee, and the 3rd and 4th Wednesdays of the month the Wednesday clinics are not as busy.  Thursday clinics typically have 5-7 patients.  Please feel free to call or text me with any questions.
