In partnership with the Iowa Hunger Coalition, the Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Public Policy team will be hosting a free, one-hour virtual webinar “Advancing Nutrition Security Policy in Iowa: Making the Case for SNAP” on Friday, May 19th from 12-1 PM CST.
Non-Academy and community members are encouraged and welcome to attend at no cost.
During this webinar, hear from Luke Elzinga, Chair of the Iowa Hunger Coalition as we:
Grow our understanding and knowledge of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Double Up Food Bucks program.
Become informed on the current state of SNAP policy in Iowa and recent legislative proposals concerning the program.
Gain familiarity of the upcoming Farm Bill negotiations, how SNAP plays into them, and policy priorities for anti-hunger groups.
