On behalf of the Iowa Academy's new Public Policy Team, we would like to introduce you to Lexie Stoneking, the incoming Public Policy Coordinator. She is passionate about making a difference in people's lives in her role as a WIC professional at Broadlawns Medical Center. Lexie is also passionate about making a difference in her profession and has volunteered to lead the legislative advocacy efforts for Iowa. She is joined by 3 other registered and licensed dietitians that you will be introduced to soon: Tracey Sauke, State Policy Representative; Kristy Carr, State Regulatory Specialist, and Susie Roberts, Reimbursement Chair. Because of the current political climate and the ongoing pandemic (and the heightened awareness of how crucial public health and nutrition are), we need to educate our legislators on what we do and the value of registered AND licensed dietitians.
