Class is in session at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
But only the taste buds are tested. Once a month about 20 residents meet for the recently formed Foodie Group.It's a chance for them to experience fun flavors and be transported back in time.
"Let's start with the mint," Christine Jacobson said.
She's a clinical dietician at the IVH and is leading an eager group on a food adventure. She's reintroducing them to the tastes and smells of spring. Once a month, these veterans are tasked with mastering the flavors of the season.
"Is anyone picking up citrusy?" Jacobson asks.
