Spotlight on Adult and Senior Malnutrition

Malnutrition is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality, especially among older adults. Up to half of adults age 65 and older and as many as 39 percent of older adult patients may be malnourished or at-risk for malnutrition.

Malnourished adults are five times more likely to die during a hospitalization and 54 percent more likely to be readmitted. Learn more about the transition from hospital to community in an exclusive members-only 1-hour CPEU webinar on September 12 at 1 p.m. (Eastern Time). Registration is limited to the first 1,000 participants, and those not able to attend live can listen to a recorded version of the event.

On September 13 at 1 p.m. (Eastern Time), the Academy's @eatrightPRO channel will host a Twitter chat with experts from the Healthy Aging and Dietetics in Health Care Communities DPGs.
