Responsibilities:

As the Food and Nutrition Manager, you'll be responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of the dietary department and Dietitians. What You'll Do


  • *Supervise the team through effective hiring, training, coaching, and performance management. Ensure development of staff to achieve high results. Promote engagement and satisfaction to drive retention. Collaborate with management team to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • *Assist the Inpatient Operations Manager and Infection Prevention/Quality Assurance Nurse with clinical leadership, coordination, quality, risk management, productivity, and human resource management of dietary cooks and dietary department functions.

  • *Represent the dietary department in multidisciplinary health care teams and be the primary on-site liaison responsible for maintaining effective communication and cooperation with clinicians and other healthcare professionals.

  • *Monitor compliance with all regulatory and organizational requirements and ensure that a safe working environment is always maintained by enforcing regulatory and organizational standards.

  • *Plan and approve residential and café menus while collaborating with the clinical dietitian team lead and speech therapist team lead.

  • *Ensure the acquisition of food supplies and equipment needed to support residential and staff food service operations.

  • *Collaborate with Human Resources Department on planning, coordinating, preparing, and delivering food items to support organization wide sponsored events.

  • *Assist in developing and managing the financial budget for the dietary department in coordination with the Inpatient Operations Manager.


Qualifications:

What You'll Need

  • *Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

  • *Completion of a State approved Dietary Manager Program. *Licensed Dietitian in the state of Iowa.

  • *One year of supervisory experience in quantity cooking (i.e. hospital, cafeteria, healthcare facility, or restaurant).

  • *One year of experience in purchasing food preferred.

  • *Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
