Candidates will use the Nutrition Care process to assess, evaluate, and provide medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling for adult and pediatric patients. The candidate will help teach our dietetic students and will participate as a part of the multidisciplinary team to help develop nutritional components of care. The candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient’s status according to age.
Dietitian I: a masters degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates registered prior to January 01, 2024, will require a bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition or Dietetics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required. Licensure by the state of Iowa is required.
Dietitian II: a masters degree in food and nutrition or Dietetics or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Reasonable (5 years) clinical nutrition experience. Demonstrated competency of care in pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations across a wide range of medical conditions in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Experience in making enteral and parenteral recommendations and selecting appropriate formulas. Must demonstrate experience working effectively in a diverse environment. Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required. Licensure by the State of Iowa is required.
