Consults with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide medical nutrition therapy to patients, residents, & outpatients with various diseases and nutritional needs. Provides nutritional screening, assessment, reassessment, and education for patients, residents and families. Plans therapeutic diets in accordance with physician’s diagnoses and requirements of regulatory agencies. Provides consultation to the Diet Clerks regarding nutrition-care orders, patient/resident menu correction, and patient/resident nourishment needs. Participates in a Patient/Resident Meal Performance Improvement Program programs to ensure high quality meals served at the appropriate temperature and in an attractive manner. Presents in-service education programs for food service and other healthcare staff to provide continuing education and training and a safe working environment. Complies with all local, state and federal government regulations.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree and be a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and a Licensed Dietitian in the state of Iowa. (Register or License eligible) will meet the education requirement.

The team of Registered Dietitians provide nutritional services to the areas of Med Surg, Infusion, Radiation Oncology, Dialysis, Long Term Care, a Chronic Care Center with Wound Care & Diabetes, Community Education and coming soon; a new state of the art 23,000 sq. ft. Cancer Center.
Your teaching and coaching skills will be put to best use with a diverse staff at our expanding outpatient Chronic Care Center. This center includes a Certified Diabetes Program, Diabetes Prevention Program, and Wound Care Clinic. Electronic Medical Record experience preferred (Meditech)
Excellent oral and written communication; strong verbal communication skills for positive interaction with staff, patients, small groups, large groups and community presentations.
Knowledge of current Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Nutrition Care Process.
Knowledge of industry best practices and stays current with continuing education
Competency to effectively use Windows-based business software applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
