Erin Thole Summers, MS, MBA, RDN, CSSD, LDN
Erin is dedicated to leading and promoting the dietetic profession. Erin has been employed in many different roles with direct concern and support of wellness for a variety of clients. Because of her unique career path, Erin brings a varied skill set that is an asset to the Iowa Academy and the dietetics profession. Erin has been actively engaged as a board and council member of the Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. In 2014, Erin became the Marketing Chair of the Iowa Academy. She remains engaged in this area by conducting spokespeople media trainings to help build dietitians’ confidence to promote themselves in various media outlets. By doing so, dietitians learn how to market themselves as the real nutrition experts which elevates our profession. Most recently, Erin served as President of the Iowa Academy. During her time as President, Erin brought Iowa AND to a new level of organization. Her strategic vision and plan helped guide the group and set the organization up for success in the future. To quote one of Erin’s letters of support “her inherent talent for leadership and organizational capabilities are an asset to the Academy and to our profession as a whole. It is because of those skills that she led our organization into a new phase; inspired members to participate in Iowa AND activities; made significant contributions at the local, state, and national levels; and expanded our outreach, both within Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and to a wider audience.”
