IDA Awards and Scholarships

Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year (RYDY)

Number of possible awards:

Purpose: To recognize the competence and activities of younger dietitians in IDA and to encourage their continued participation in the dietetic profession.

Selection criteria established by ADA:

• Active membership in ADA
• Thirty-five (35) years or younger on March 1 of year bestowed
• Active participation in national, state, and/or district associations
• Not previously selected for this award
• Demonstrated concern for the promotion of optimum health and nutritional status of the population
• Demonstrated leadership in employment or association activities

 

Nomination procedure:

Nominations may be submitted by individual IDA members or district dietetic associations. Self-nominations are also accepted.
