My Goals and Vision for IDA:
IDA can remain strong only if dietitians value
belonging to ADA. I view my role as Delegate to
be the conduit of information from ADA to the state
officers and to each member. Dietitians are at an
important crossroads, determining whether
changing the educational preparation and
qualifications to become a dietitian are necessary.
ADA is a driving force to ensure that dietitians are
competitive in the work force now and in the future.
The Delegate’s role is to solicit the evidence-based
input from members that can be communicated to
the ADA leaders at the HOD meetings and on
electronic sites. Thoughtful voting to best
represent the members of Iowa and the best
interests of the profession is my most important
goal as Delegate to ensure that ADA makes the
appropriate strategic choices as the organization
that will lead us into the future. My personal goal
for IDA is to offer members a role in leadership
activities to promote the growth and value of each
member. In my vision for IDA, I see each member
choosing to take responsibility for an action plan
activity for one or more of the goals listed in our
Strategic Plan. Members will compete for the
privilege of serving IDA as an officer, council
member, or committee member because of the
value it brings each member, the organization, and
dietitians in Iowa in general
