Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year (RYDY)

Number of possible awards:

Purpose: To recognize the competence and activities of younger dietitians in IDA and to encourage their continued participation in the dietetic profession.

Selection criteria established by ADA:

Active membership in ADA
Thirty-five (35) years or younger on March 1 of year bestowed
Active participation in national, state, and/or district associations
Not previously selected for this award
Demonstrated concern for the promotion of optimum health and nutritional status of the population
Demonstrated leadership in employment or association activities

Nomination procedure:

Nominations may be submitted by individual IDA members or district dietetic associations. Self-nominations are also accepted.
