Recognized Outstanding Dietitian of the
Year Award (RODY)
Number of possible awards: 1
Purpose: To recognize a member of
IDA who has shown notable leadership and service to the profession
of dietetics.
Selection criteria established by ADA:
- Active membership in ADA for at least the previous 10 years
- Active membership in IDA for at least the previous 5 years
- Not previously selected for this award
- Demonstrated leadership in the field of dietetics through
at least one of the following:
- Shown commitment and/or given outstanding service to the
organization at the national,state, or local level
- Inspired members to participate actively in the association
and upgrade their professional skills
- Initiated a project that has improved the image of the
profession or expanded his/her nutritional skills
- Made outstanding contributions to community groups and
other allied professional groups related to the practice
of dietetics
- Organized advocacy activities to improve nutrition services
- Performed with outstanding technical competence in writing,
scientific research, management, or education
