Professional Awards for Members

Recognized Outstanding Dietitian of the Year Award (RODY)

Purpose: To recognize a member of IDA who has shown notable leadership and service to the profession of dietetics.

Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year Award (RYDY)

Purpose: To recognize the competence and activities of younger dietitians in IDA/ADA and to encourage their continues participation in the dietetic profession.

Recognized Dietetic Technician of the Year Award (RDTY)

Purpose: To recognize the professional contributions of dietetic technicians in IDA/ADA and to encourage their continued participation in the dietetic profession.

Emerging Dietetic Leader Award

Purpose: To recognize the competence and activities of dietitians regardless of age, who have made distinctive contributions to ADA/IDA early in their dietetic careers.

ADA Outstanding Dietetic Educator Award

Gem Award

Purpose: To recognize individuals/organizations/businesses who have made significant contributions to the profession of dietetics in Iowa. Nomination categories include business and industry, media, health care, legislation/public policy, and others.

Medallion Award

Purpose: To recognize member of IDA who has demonstrated leadership above and beyond job requirements in either the association or employment and who has made outstanding contributions to the dietetic profession.
