Welcome to Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Iowa’s food and nutrition experts. Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dieteticsis a nonprofit professional organization and affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Our association is comprised of a diverse group of food and nutrition professionals working to optimize the health of Iowan’s through food and nutrition. Members of Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dieteticsare a dedicated group of volunteer leaders continuously working to advance the role of registered dietitians.

These volunteer leaders enhance our organization through several approaches including:

• Organizing a two day annual meeting to enhance our knowledge and skills, organized and
planned by Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics volunteer leaders.
• Legislative activities and trainings to develop our advocacy and public policy skills led and
organized by Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics volunteer leaders.
• Quarterly newsletters to provide members with relevant updates; written, organized and edited
by Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics volunteer leaders.
• Scholarships for students and interns to provide additional resources for education and growth
allowing for student members to become future Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics volunteer leaders.
• The Simplified Diet Manual which provides science based guIANDnce for nutrition planning
written, developed, and edited by Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics volunteer leaders.

The list provided here is a very short representation of all of the work completed by our volunteer leaders and I know that the coming year will result in many more amazing accomplishments.
